For this series, the artist employs string, fibre, and wire as agents of tension and constraint, knotting them around various clay combinations to create indentations and markings produced through friction and containment. These materials leave traces of contact shaping the surface before it hardens. Each clay painting is wrapped and bound like a parcel: suggesting protection and care, yet simultaneously signals restriction and the assertion of control. By dissecting the clay, the artist imitates the ways land is inscribed with meaning. Land Parcels reflects on the human impulse to transform the land through acts of surveying, marking, dividing, and claiming. These gestures create boundaries resulting in territory control, which stand for larger systems of ownership, memory, and rupture that shape landscapes.

TIMING:
All paintings will be available for local pick up (Vancouver) or shipping around the second week of November.
FRAMING:
All paintings are framed in a neutral toned soft wood veneer, custom built by a local Vancouver frame shop. Due to the organic nature of wood, there may be slight variations in tone and grain, and in time the wood will likely patina and darken a bit. They come with a wire or D hooks on the back, ready for hanging.
SHIPPING:
Prices do not include shipping and packaging. These values will be added at checkout and are dependent on the size of the art piece and the shipping destination. These factors can alter the shipping cost greatly. In the event that the shipping/packaging ends up being less than quoted, the difference will be refunded back to you within a week.
Transit times will vary, dependant on destination, customs, transport type, etc. Clients will be kept up-to-date via email.
TAXES:
Applicable taxes (Canadians) will be added at checkout.
All prices are exclusive of duties. Note that ‘Original Canadian Artwork’ is part of USMCA/CUSMA, currently making it exempt from duties/ tariffs.
PICK UP:
Local pick up from Mount Pleasant (Vancouver, BC) studio is an option for all paintings. Pick up arrangements can be made by appointment.
