Profile portrait of girl in hat

Sarah Delaney (b. 1986) is a multi-disciplinary artist, based in Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Drifting between painting, textile collage, and installation, her work integrates memory and sensory response. Sarah considers qualitative, internal time as a central medium and theme in her work. She is interested in transformative processes that shape their environments.. For her, these signs offer glimpses into past interactions, providing contextual substance and the story of a place. They serve as a tool to discern the passage of time, hinting at our unfixed position in temporal space.

Sarah is a Curator and Founder of Spur Projects, an artist-led curatorial project focused on spotlighting material research art practices and ecology-derived work, that highlight relationships and interactions between humans and their physical environments.

Sarah holds a BFA in Visual Art from the University of Victoria and a DID from Vancouver College of Art and Design. She has participated in juried artist residencies, such as PADA in Barreiro, Portugal, Duplex AIR in Lisbon, Portugal, AADK in Blanca, Spain, Casa Lu in Mexico City, and Arquetopia Foundation outside of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, notably CLAVO during Mexico Art Week, the Toronto Art Fair, and the NYC Art on Paper Fair. She has painted murals for companies and art fairs across North America.
